چکیده

Ten years of study of the effects of x-rays on different species of flowering plants has resulted in a grouping according to ray susceptibility which should be of value, since many investigators are engaged in studying the various ways in which radiation influences living organisms. When sufficient data concerning the morphological and physiological action of x-rays have been collected, it should be possible to give reasons for the ray resistance of some families as compared with the ray susceptibility of others. This paper deals particularly with the morphological effects produced on the above-ground parts of seventy different species distributed in thirty-five families; another paper (11) will discuss the action of the rays on underground stems or roots of twenty-two species. The susceptibility of species of Helianthus, Solanumi, Lycopersicumn, Vicia, Atriplex, Linunt, Nernophila, and Zinnia have been treated elsewhere (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12).

The Toxicity Material Extraction From Euphorbia Species

Euphorbia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae. Consisting of 2008 species. The genus Euphorbia produces an irritant, which constitute a health hazard to humans and livestock. The genus Euphorbia is one of the largest and most complex genera of flowering plants, however, several botanists have made unsuccessful attempts to subdivide it to smaller genera.  Many Eu...

Flowering phenology as a functional trait in a tallgrass prairie.

• The timing of flowering is a critical component of the ecology of plants and has the potential to structure plant communities. Yet, we know little about how the timing of flowering relates to other functional traits, species abundance, and average environmental conditions. • Here, we assessed first flowering dates (FFDs) in a North American tallgrass prairie (Konza Prairie) for 431 herbaceous...

Evaluation of Essential Oil Yield, Morphological and Phenological Traits in Some Populations of Two Chamomile Species (Matricaria recutita and M. aurea)

Evaluation of essential oil yield, morphological and phenological traits of seven populations of twoChamomilespecies )Matricaria aurea and M. recutita), were carried out using Randomized Completely Blocks Design (RCBD) in three replications in Alborz research station in Karaj, Iran during 2011-2012. Data were collected for 12 morphological and phenological traits. Analysis of variance showed si...

Evaluation of Effect of Improved Trichoderma inocula on Flowering and Crop Productivity of Bean

The transition from the vegetative phase to reproductive phase is the most important event in production and genetic innovation. This phenomenon is influenced by many genetic and environmental factors in plants. According to studies carried out in this field, one of the environmental factors affects the reproductive and flowering process is Trichoderma species, which is abundant in soil. This s...

Environmental energy and evolutionary rates in flowering plants.

The latitudinal gradient in species richness is a pervasive feature of the living world, but its underlying causes remain unclear. We evaluated the hypothesis that environmental energy drives evolutionary rates and thereby diversification in flowering plants. We estimated energy levels across angiosperm family distributions in terms of evapotranspiration, temperature and UV radiation taken from...
